More guests usually means more tables and more tables mean more floral design. The style of your tablescape also plays a role. If you imagine something abundant and meadow‑like, your investment will naturally increase to achieve that fullness.
Out of season flowers, imported stems or very specific requests can increase your flower budget. Choosing flowers that are naturally in season at the time of your wedding supports sustainability and keeps costs balanced. At May & June, we work with British-grown flowers as much as we possibly can – they are more beautiful and kinder to the planet.
A blank‑canvas venue such as a barn or marquee often needs more flowers to create atmosphere while larger or architecturally dramatic spaces may call for installations that complement their scale. Travel and accommodation costs for your florist needs to be factored in too.
Flower installations involve more time, skill and mechanics. Large installations, suspended pieces and flower arches require a team of people sourcing, conditioning, designing, transporting, installing, travelling and returning for takedown.
For some couples, weddings are a multi-day celebration with welcome dinners, post-wedding brunches and other events. Each event often calls for its own floral designs so if you are planning a wedding weekend (or week), your flower budget will naturally need to increase.
If flowers are central to the atmosphere, storytelling and aesthetic of your day, your budget will naturally reflect that. The more immersive and abundant your flowers are, the greater your investment.

Floristry is a craft and a skill and so flowers are only one part of your investment. Behind every wedding are months of preparation including:
